Adventure awaits

Angela started her journey ‘into the wild’ almost 10 years ago when she had her second son and got her hands on a copy of Richard Louv’s “Last Child in the Woods.” Instead of relying on TV or electronics to stay occupied, she took her kids outside. She began to see her backyard and neighborhood with completely new eyes. She began to study the wild things around her and realize how much fun and learning there was to be had when she was with her kids in nature. That experience lead her in 2017 to start Wilderkids Urban Forest School for preschoolers. She’s co-authored a book of adventures in local parks through Green Spiral Tours and in 2019, she became the Nature-Play consultant for PLAY-MO, an organization advocating for children by seeking to support and expand a culture of play in St Louis.
